Today, our fully modernized farmland is spread over 20 acres in a pollution-free environment at Ravulapalem. It’s located in Andhra Pradesh and is popularly known as the ‘Gateway of Konaseema’. S V V Dora Reddy, co-founder, Abhi Foods, while speaking to Bizz Buzz outlined the importance of nutrition in eggs and their dedication to quality.
“What began as a personal effort in 2017 with just about 500 birds and supply limited to friends and family, gradually grew into a larger vision. The family-driven initiative eventually evolved into Abhi Eggs, with the intent of providing better, cleaner, and nutritionally enriched eggs to a larger set of health-conscious consumers,” he said
What was the rationale behind the launch of Abhi Eggs?
The idea of Abhi Eggs started within the family. My father-in-law wanted to give me better, more nutritious eggs to his grandson. What began as a personal effort in 2017, with just about 500 birds and supply limited to friends and family, gradually grew into a larger vision.
As we spent more time understanding egg nutrition, we realised that while eggs are widely consumed in India, there is very little control or monitoring over how they are produced especially when it comes to bird health, antibiotic usage, feed quality, and actual nutritional value. This gap led us to experiment more seriously with nutrition, bird care, and farming practices.
When we decided to build this as a brand, we conducted multiple rounds of testing and validation, including testing across several NABL-accredited labs, to ensure the nutrition we were aiming for was genuinely present in the eggs.
The rationale was clear to produce eggs where we have complete control over farming, feed, and bird health, and to deliver eggs that offer real nutritional benefits in a natural, food-based form.
What started as a family-driven initiative eventually evolved into Abhi Eggs, with the intent of providing better, cleaner, and nutritionally enriched eggs to a larger set of health-conscious consumers.
How are Abhi Eggs differentiated from other eggs available in the market?
Abhi Eggs are differentiated by the level of control we maintain over the entire farming and nutrition process. Unlike conventional egg brands, where eggs are largely sourced from partner farms, we operate our own farm, which allows us to closely monitor bird health, feed quality, water, and overall living conditions.
A key difference is our focus on preventive care rather than antibiotics. We prioritise bird health through gut health management using probiotics, clean water management system practices, and close day-to-day monitoring of each bird. This approach enables us to maintain bird wellness naturally.
Nutrition is another major differentiator. We follow a scientific approach to enrichment, ensuring that the nutrients claimed are meaningfully present in the eggs. Our fortified eggs are designed so that consuming two eggs can meet a significant part of daily nutritional requirements, reducing the need for supplements. We also focus on farm management, preventive practices, and feed nutrition, with validation conducted through multiple NABL-accredited laboratories to ensure authenticity and consistency.
How are Abhi Eggs priced in comparison to other eggs in the market?
Abhi Eggs are competitively priced to ensure they remain accessible to a wide range of consumers. The pricing varies across our different variants, based on the level of nutritional fortification and benefits offered.
Prices may also differ slightly on the lower side across e-commerce platforms where Abhi Eggs are available, in line with platform-specific pricing structures.
Are the eggs available pan-India, and through which types of retail channels?
Yes, Abhi Eggs are available across India through a combination of offline and online retail channels. The brand is present in around 50 cities across 17 states, including Mumbai, Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Lucknow, Kolkata, Vizag, Vijayawada, Gujarat (Ahmedabad, Vadodara), Bhopal, Indore, and Kochi
In terms of retail channels, Abhi Eggs are available through offline stores. Initially available in Hyderabad through Q Mart, and later expanded to retail chains such as Vijetha, Ratnadeep, and Pure O Natural, along with specialty stores; Modern retail: Available across India through More and Reliance retail stores, as well as Lulu Mall and Metro outlets nationwide; Quick-commerce platforms: Available on Big Basket, Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, Blinkit, Amazon, Flipkart, Milk Basket, and other leading platforms.
This multi-channel presence ensures that the brand reaches out to customers both in physical stores and through major online delivery platforms across India.
What is the annual production capacity, and how do you assess demand for eggs?
Abhi Eggs has a daily production capacity of 18–20 lakh eggs, catering to growing demand across its retail and online channels.
What is the complete product portfolio?
Abhi Eggs has a focused portfolio of nutrient-enriched eggs aimed at supporting everyday health and immunity. The range is led by India’s first D.O.S.E Egg, a multi-nutrient enriched egg that combines Omega (DHA and EPA), Vitamin D3, Vitamin B12, Selenium, Vitamin A, and Vitamin E in a single product.
Alongside the D.O.S.E Egg, the brand also offers other variants such as Vitamin D3 Nutri+ and gold+, catering to different nutritional needs while maintaining a strong focus on quality and enrichment.
Are all eggs produced in-house, or do you work with external suppliers?
Abhi Eggs are primarily produced in-house at our own 20-acre poultry farm in Ravulapalem, Andhra Pradesh. The farm is equipped with modern, automated systems for feeding, watering, and overall bird management, allowing us to maintain consistent quality and hygiene standards.
We exercise complete control over the hens’ diet, providing a carefully curated, 100% vegetarian feed fortified with essential nutrients such as Omega-3 and Vitamin D3. Our farming practices are antibiotic-free and focused on preventive care and bird well-being.
This end-to-end control from farming and nutrition to quality checks ensures that Abhi Eggs consistently meet our standards for nutrition, safety, and purity.
Is the company focused on organic growth or inorganic expansion?
Abhi Eggs is primarily focused on organic growth. The company continues to strengthen its farm-to-pack model by investing in quality enhancement, ethical farming practices, and nutrition-led innovation. Rather than pursuing aggressive inorganic expansion or acquisitions, the focus remains on scaling responsibly while maintaining full control over quality, processes, and brand values.
What was the turnover for 2025?
Abhi Eggs closed the financial year 2024–25 with a turnover of Rs 47.47 crore. We are expecting to reach Rs 100 – 105 crores in turnover in 2025-26.
What is the business outlook for the next three years?
We plan to strengthen our presence in existing markets, diversify our egg portfolio, and expand into related categories such as dairy products. We are also exploring export opportunities in the Middle East and South Asia to drive sustained growth and expand our market reach.
